The Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association is a nonprofit corporation organized under Alaska State Law.  ASHNHA's rich composition of private, federal, state, and tribal health care facilities provides a balanced viewpoint on important health care policy matters. 

As of 2008, the Association’s membership includes 36 of the 38 health care institutions in Alaska. Of these institutions 23 are acute care hospitals, two are behavioral health facilities, six are assisted living facilities (Alaska Pioneer Homes), and five are nursing homes. Nine of the 23 acute care hospitals are combined facilities which include nursing home beds. This rich composition of private, federal, state, and tribal health care facilities enables ASHNHA to provide a balanced viewpoint on important health care policy matters.
